Abundance and Variety

 Resin, feathers, wool, embroidery, brass, metal ornaments, cloth, gold, sand, trimmings, glass beads – Sophie Daniel’s adornments are made from a multitude of materials. Side by side, ancient and modern, occasionally calling on marine influences (sand, coral dust, mother of pearl, shells robed in gold leaf, combined with fragments of lace or old medallions. All of these objects put together as in a mosaic – superimposed, glued, sewn, embroidered - often using many or all of these techniques on the same creation.
